What to eat before you start your retreat

What should you bring
To make your retreat experience as pleasant as possible, it is advisable to abstain from alcohol for a few days before your retreat, and at the very least the day before. If possible eliminating sugary and processed food is also advisable.

Pack comfortable clothing, a good book if you like to read and a bathing suit if you would like to have a swim in the ocean or pool.

Otherwise everything you need will be provided!
Day 1
Arriving at your retreat
Your accommodation will be available in the afternoon. You will receive an address and directions from us upon paying your deposit. The afternoon can be spent relaxing by by the pool, going for a swim or having a sauna. Your fast starts this afternoon and you will have broths ready for you.

Day 2
Treatments commence
You will be greeted by a beautiful sunrise in the morning and you are welcome to start your day with a hot broth.
You will be led through a Yoga stretching session around 8 am with Louise at the Retreat House.
Treatments begin after 9 am at 42 Nayland Street Sumner, about 15 min drive from your retreat house . You will start with a coffee colonic and then followed by a color therapy session with body work.

The coffee colonic is important as it helps empty the bowel of waste making the fasting process more pleasant as the body does not have to deal with toxicity from the colon. The coffee retention half way through the colonic further supports the detoxifying process by supporting the liver so that it has an opportunity to release bile and toxins as well as antioxidants.

The Color Therapy and Bodywork session starts with a color reading and tuning into the the challenges and gifts you have with your given theme. After the reading you will receive bodywork that will help to release tension from the bone structure and bring balance to not only the physical body but the mental and spiritual body as well. People often notice they have more movement in their body after a session and they feel more grounded. Most importantly it feels really good!!

In the afternoon you will sit down for breathwork with Louise at the Retreat House. Louise will help you use breath to work through blockages and emotional trauma as well as helping you learn to use breath to support your joy and true nature.

Day 3
Treatments continue
Again you will be able to have your broths consumed at leisure.
Morning will again start with stretching with Louise and then a coffee colonic at the spa.
Following the coffee colonic, today you will be receiving lymphatic drainage massage. This is a gentle relaxing massage that supports your optimal lymphatic system. It may help with fluid retention, detoxification and cellulite. This is then followed by a special kinesiology session that addresses the balance of the brain and your internal organs using homeopathic remedies.

In the afternoon you will again experience breathwork with Louise at the Retreat House.
Day 4
Closing the Retreat
The retreat is now coming to a close. Today you will have your last yoga session around 8am at the Retreat House.

Treatments at the spa will be a colonic with probiotic and then you will return to the retreat house for a 90 min relaxing massage.

The probiotic colonic cleanses the colon and then a probiotic implant is left in the colon at the end of the session to help balance the gut flora at the end of your cleanse.
Beyond the Retreat
Back to Food

How to resume eating again gently
It is advisable to start with simple cooked food such as vegetable soup. Refrain from fresh foods such as salads as they can be irritating to the colon. Then in the days to come slowly start adding more foods, cooked meats, roasted vegetables and then raw foods.

You have now experienced a fast! Congratulations! You now KNOW you can do it. So feel free to utilize the techniques and knowledge you have learned to incorporate fasting into your lifestyle. Whether it is just intermittent fasting every day, or fasting one day a week or even a 4 day fast once a month; you know have the tools to benefit from fasting on your terms.
